The songs he has written:

East Bound And Down

Variant of the song "West Bound And Down".

This song was written for the movie "Smokey And The Bandit" (1977), starring Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Jackie Gleason and Jerry Reed. The movie was a huge success. And the movie theme song became a big hit and has played over one-million times in broadcast.

There are two versions of this song, meaning that the two first lines in the chorus are different. In the beginning of the movie, when the truck was driving against Texarcana to fetch the beer, they were singing: "West Bound And Down. Eighteen Wheels Are Rolliní". In the last part of the movie, while on the way back Eastwards, the song goes: "East Bound And Down. Loaded Up And Truckiní".

East bound and down loaded up and truckin'
We're gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go and a short time to get there
I'm east bound. Just watch old Bandit run.

Keep your foot hard on the pedal
Never mind them brakes
Let it all hang out 'cause we've got a run to make
The boys are thirsty in Atlanta
And there's beer in Texarcana
We'll bring it back no matter what it takes

Repeat Chorus

Old Smokey's got them ears on he's hot on your trail
And he ain't gonna rest 'til you're in jail
So you've got to dodge him' you've got to duck him
You've got to keep that diesel truckin'
Just put that hammer down and give it hell
